My Essay: IT's SHITTY. PLEASE DONT READ IT IF YOU HATE LONG STORIES Basically it's on the medieval times. It's like.. oldish. And.... knights castles princesses princes those shit. YEAH it's a love story too (: NAHNAHNAH. January 23, 2009 IK Humanities Lost Ecstasy My name is Szenna, pronounced like Senna, and I am a noble. This story tells the wonderful life I had, until something so cruel, something so evil, came and tore it all down. I lost everything, that instant. Nobody saw it coming. Not one person at all. Be so happy and appreciate everything you have. Enjoy it while you have it, and remember every single memory that brings happiness. So, be thankful now, or it will be too late… I glanced up at the blue, creamy sky, squinting as the intense sunlight crossed my eyes. I was standing on a wonderfully made balcony, where I gazed into the gleaming ocean. The sea gulls above let out melodious sounds as I closed my eyes and felt the wind blowing back my fine hair. I spun around slowly and walked elegantly back to my love in a beautiful silk dress. I hummed the melody of an enchanting lullaby. “Szenna, love. Come here for a moment please,” Andrius, my dear prince, said as he motioned for me to sit on his lap. “Hmm?” I hummed as I grabbed a luxurious pillow and made myself comfortable in his arms. He shifted his position, and kneeled before me with my pale hands in his. Andrius looked my deep in the eyes, and I seemed to be caught in a trance. It was when his lips moved that I snapped out of it. “Szenna. I love you. Will you marry me?” My handsome prince asked me as he dazzled me with his dark, almond colored eyes. “Oh..my,” I gasped with astonishment. I was not prepared for this. I loved him though, just as much as he loved me. I was willing to do anything for him at this point. “Of course!” I squealed with delight as I pressed my lips to his. His warm hand slipped something, something that felt like a ring, onto my finger. I glanced. It was a ring. On it was a gleaming, clear crystal. Showing my teeth to him, I flashed him one of my cheesy grins. “I…will be right back,” I said unsteadily, with a smile on my face, and got up to my feet. Twirling towards the door, I blew a kiss to him and mouthed an “I love you” to Andrius before shutting the door behind me. I danced through the golden, expensive corridors of the castle, and followed a red carpet that led to my room. Letting my hand trace freely across every single decoration on the wall, I murmured a quick prayer that thanked the gods for giving me this wonderful life. As I entered my enormously huge doorway, I looked through it at my room for what seemed like five minutes. Then I snapped out of it and went over to my mirror, which was decorated and crafted so finely, by one of the best jewel crafters in our entire town. A reflection stared back at me. My mouth dropped open. It wasn’t what I, or any other person that looks at themselves in the mirror, expected to see. No, no. I didn’t see myself. Or the person I was now. I saw a lifeless one. A lifeless girl that was supposed to be me stared back at me. I moved half a step closer. What I glared at was a poor, forlorn girl. Her almond-colored hair had dirty, grey dust sprinkled all over her head. With her head tilting to one side, it seemed like she was trying to look at a painting that was placed sideways. Her body was extremely pale, and the ragged, ripped, and ruined clothes frightened me. The reflection wasn’t wearing any beautiful sandals. Instead, her feet were tough and thick as they trotted along the dirt path. The image scared me, and left a scar on my thoughts. She haunted me like a ghost. When I finally blinked my eyes again, the illusion disappeared. I now saw a gorgeous noble wearing a fine, silky, and white dress. Tucked in her layered hair behind her ear was a Hibiscus, a type of rare flower. She was wearing expensive, beaded sandals that only high-class people owned. I let out a petrified gasp. Stumbling to my bed in a rush, my eye lids immediately shut, and the world went dark. “Hmm…” I whined softly as a hand shook my gently. For some reason, I kept hearing little chimes in the distant, or what seemed like it. “Hello, my bride,” a familiar voice greeted. I recognized it was Andrius’s voice. “Hi…” I replied back, with less enthusiasm, “Oh, thank goodness you’re here. Have I fallen asleep? My, my. Oh, yesterday, I…” “Shush now, Szenna. I’d love to hear all about it, but I have some fairly ungrateful news.” It was then that I noticed, and looked clearly, at what he was wearing. No, it wasn’t one of those well-crafted robes like he always wore. It was much different. I stretched my neck a bit upwards to glance down on the floor. Like I predicted, I saw a large, jeweled sword and shield. He was wearing mail, too. His whole body was silver, and covered with chains. His helmet was being cradled in his left hand, with me in his other. My eyes grew big. “NO!” I immediately screamed as I came to my senses. “YOU CANNOT LEAVE ME! NO!” I screeched as tears immediately poured out of my terrified eyes. “DEAR! Don’t cry!” Andrius soothed with great worry as more tears trickled down my red, hot face, and onto his chest. He rubbed them away with his gently fingers, and pulled my in closer in his grasp. He kissed my lightly on the forehead, and rose to his feet. “I’m so sorry, Szenna. I have no other choice. As the duty of a prince, I must help protect the people I love from the Vikings,” he said majestically and began to pull my grip off his waist. I whined, for I was in deep misery. “Please, I must go. Now.” He said with more frustration this time. He pressed his lips to mine. Softly at first, but it got more intense. When he felt like it was long enough, he pulled away. “I…” I began. “Szenna. You know I love you, and I will do whatever it takes to protect you. I swear that I will return. Promise.” He smiled softly at me. “Please, be safe,” I begged as I hugged him one last time, tighter. “Of course.” We let go of each other and he walked out the room, with this back to me. Andrius left me wondering if the love of my life would ever come home, once again, healthy and alive. Two Weeks Later. A thundering noise rang through my ears as I jumped from my sleep. What seemed like fireworks were exploding outside my window. With confused eyes, I glanced at the empty spot beside me. “No…” I sighed softly to myself. Andrius had not returned. I whimpered miserably. I missed him so terribly. What sounded like a bomb exploded outside. I jumped once again. “What the…” I wondered. It was very unusual to have people lighting up fireworks at this time of the year. Red sparks seemed to be all over the air. I frowned. Getting up from my bed, I walked curiously towards the window. It was then that I immediately understood everything, and all my questions came to one conclusion. The Vikings had attacked and invaded our city. My room door slammed open, and there came one of my trusted knights, Luca, searching for me in a deep rush. “Your majesty, you must come with me now. We have no time,” Knight Luca said in a huge hurry, but still with respect. He looked me deep in the eye, and pulled me out of my room. “But…I…” I whimpered softly. All my things were going to get left behind… “Princess Szenna, we have no time to waste. We must leave now, the Vikings have intruded our land, and if we don’t leave now, there will be no survivors.” He demanded once again. I nodded, without a choice, and followed him down the long, spiral staircase. A loud crack emerged above as rocks and pebbles began to fall on top of us. “They’re launching things at us now. Dang…” Luca cursed as he pulled me up onto his arms and sprinted out the door as soon as we reached the bottom. He threw my fragile body onto the back of a beautiful horse and got on after me. He whipped the horse once, and off it ran, sprinting like a racing cheetah across the deserted field. With worried thoughts, I quickly thought about what I was going to do now. Then it reached me. “LUCA! STOP! ANDRIUS! Oh… dear lord… WHERE IS ANDRIUS!” My piercing scream let out as Luca’s fast reflexes threw a hand over my mouth. I panted quickly, as I looked behind me and saw my bedroom, and the whole tower, fall and crash onto the burnt ground. Fire immediately ate up all the wood. Fine frames, candles, chandeliers, cupboards, and everything else, poured out from the open windows and shattered as it touched the ground. “Luca… what do we do about Andrius?! I cannot leave without him! I ABSOLUTELY CAN’T!” I sobbed as a thousand tears dripped down my cheeks. “No…” I whined. He stopped the horse, and hugged me tighter in his grasp as if to prevent me from running away. “Princess Szenna… I’m so sorry your majesty… But we have lost Prince Andrius in the war against the Vikings… he will not return.” My mouth hung open. My red eyes grew bigger. My cheeks pulled up slightly. Everything became blurry and unsteady, as I felt salty tears burst out of my eyeballs and drip onto the horse. Luca’s hand cupped around my mouth immediately, and I let it stay there. I cried so bad and so hurt as the horse trotted along the dirt path. I could no longer hear any signs of bombs, or fire. All I could hear was my faint heartbeat, the gasping of my lungs, and the whining I made as I sobbed for hours. Then it was days. Then it was months. Then, I lost track of time, of everything. Luca and I walked slowly along the long road, as the heavy rain poured down on us like a thousand needles, tearing us down. My tears were still running, as my heart felt like it shattered into a million pieces, and I could’ve sworn I heard them drop to the ground like glass shards. Luca walked silently beside me, as he was used to this terrible weeping. With his helmet in one hand and a leather strap that was tied to the horse in another, we walked down the road. “Szenna, look!” Luca spoke for the first time in hours. His hand pointed ahead, motioning for me to glance up. I didn’t. I just continued weeping, and thought about how much safer and comfortable it was with Andrius. The way he let me feel… I refused to look up. So I continued toying around with my ragged silk dress. It didn’t even look like a dress anymore. More like a ripped cloth slung casually over my shoulders. My arms and legs were covered with dirt and mud. My shoes were washed away as we crossed the mad flowing river. So now my head was covered with irksome fluffy dust. But none of it mattered to me. All I wanted, and all I could ever wish for now, was to be in the comforting arms of Andrius. Oh…Andrius… I had spent months waking up in the middle of a night with a terrifying screech. Every single night, I had a terrible nightmare. Wishing Andrius was here to bear through all those memories together with me, I cried myself to sleep again, only to be awoken with another scream. Luca couldn’t do anything about it. He used to get up too and soothe me. Now, he just ignored it and kept on sleeping. “Szenna, seriously. Look up! It’s a town! We have hope!” Luca shook me softly. His fingers pulled my chin up to gaze ahead. My thought was interrupted once again. I blinked away the tears as I tried to see into the distant. He was right. It was a town. It looked so happy too… The children danced around the campfire with the parents seated around the circle. They were all clapping and singing to a melodious music, and for the first time in months, I smiled. It was barely a smile. “Well, well. We are going to go get some help, FINALLY!” Luca said joyfully with delight as he swung me up onto the horse. He jumped on, and whipped the horse once. “BE HAPPY NOW, SZENNA! We have hope!” Luca sang into my ear as I grinned into the wind. It slapped against my dress, and blew back my oily hair. We both smiled as the horse sped forwards against the strong wind. We headed towards the happy camp with hope. One Year Later As the mini town fell asleep, I crawled out of the little tent and sat on a wooden log. I looked up at the beautiful night sky. More than a million stars were dazzling up there. They seemed to be all smiling down at me. I smiled back. The town had accepted the permission for Luca and I to travel with them. We had been well fed and dressed since then. Now, here we are, after a full year. I let out a deep sigh as I ran through the terrifying memories in my head. “Hey, Andrius.” I whispered into the silent breeze. “I miss you, so much… Where are you? How are you? Oh, I am fine. I love you so much, always and forever. Please… visit me soon. I miss you so terribly Andrius. You are my love. Szenna and Andrius together forever.” I smiled once again at the sky. It was so stunning. Getting up from the log, I turned around and glanced at the tranquil camp. No more golden frames and chandeliers, no more fine crafted mirrors and sandals. Leather vests and linen dresses, not wool capes and silky robes. I lost it all, in that little time that the Vikings invaded. I patted my linen shirt and climbed back into the rough tent, thanking the gods now for letting me survive and to live with this loving, peaceful camp. Inside the tent, I lay staring up at the top, letting a single teardrop slip out the corner of my eye as the world went silent. XD THERE. GOODNIGHT NOW x3 XOXO. ![]() SO CUTE, no? :) Night Love, T
